White Hat IT Security offers managed security solutions and classic cyber security services for its medium and large enterprise clients and has recently become a member of MISA, the Microsoft ecosystem of independent software vendors and managed security service providers that have integrated their solutions to better defend against a world of increasing threats. This young company of senior IT security experts and hackers has developed its own solution called White Hat MSS, which offers 24/7 managed detection and response (MDR) as well as comprehensive managed security services (MSS) to its clients, protecting them among others from common threats, ransomware, or corporate espionage.

Budapest, December 2021 – A mere three years after its founding the Hungarian start-up has become a Gold partner of Microsoft, an MSSP officially recognized by Microsoft; and joined the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association. Becoming a MISA member is preceded by a rigorous evaluation process by Microsoft, during which their technology and competence is under scrutiny. This partner status means that Microsoft supports White Hat IT Security to provide managed or on-demand cyber protection and to prevent and avert threats at their corporate clients.

White Hat MSS offers its medium and large enterprise partners a wide range of services or even 24/7 ITS monitoring in 4 flexible and customizable packages based on Microsoft services likeMicrosoft Defender for Endpoint; Microsoft Defender for Identity; Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Microsoft Sentinel. They actively protect the infrastructure of their clients from different kinds of threats, attacks and cyber espionage (from hackers and garden-variety ransomware to highly sophisticated APT) as well as from exploitation of their technological vulnerabilities, and also help them elevate internal level of IT security via trainings and campaigns. In order to identify a system’s pivot points for potential attacks the company’s „white hat” hackers use offensive and defensive tools like adversary simulations (or „red teaming” exercises) and vulnerability research; and develop the optimal strategies of defence based on their findings. The knowledge of its senior infosec experts and specialists is supported by the deep strategic expertise of founder Sandor Feher software engineer – mathematician and his significant national security past. Thus, they can simulate, and model potential incidents and their optimal responses based on relevant and diverse hands-on experience.

The number of cyber-attacks has been growing steadily in recent years, and the methodology of hackers becomes more and more sophisticated. The security risk of companies has significantly increased since the beginning of last year due to pandemic-enforced remote work. In order to enable home office, companies have quickly created a huge number of new workstations (endpoints), but their internal IT teams do not have the capacity or expertise to defend these properly. Therefore, demand for 3rd party security solutions like ours is on the rise. Our White Hat MSS offers a scalable and adaptive solution through which the entire defence of an enterprise can be developed rapidly, on all platforms. At one of our most recent clients the implementation of our sensors on 3000+ endpoints took less than 2 weeks, and this number can be doubled or cut in half in a matter of days at any point.” – says Sandor Feher, co-founder and CEO of White Hat IT Security. The senior expert comes from the national security sector and holds most of the top international ITS certifications his team members do.

The Microsoft Intelligent Security Association has grown into a vibrant ecosystem comprised of the most reliable and trusted security software vendors across the globe. Our members, like White Hat IT Security, share Microsoft’s commitment to collaboration within the cybersecurity community to improve our customers’ ability to predict, detect, and respond to security threats faster.” – said Maria Thomson, Microsoft Intelligent Security Association Lead.

Building on our partnerships we plan on expanding our operations in Europe, mostly in Germany, with a strong focus on mid-sized and enterprise level corporate clients. With this we continue what we have already started with our traditional and on-demand security services: besides our Budapest headquarters we have been present on the German market and have had our Munich office since the beginning.” adds Sandor Feher. By now White Hat’s partner list includes such prominent members as Graphisoft SE (a Nemetschek Group company), the Volkswagen Group or market leader German security device manufacturer Mobotix AG. White Hat protected endpoints are now present in 11 countries, including Japan, Hong Kong or the United States.

White Hat IT Security

Sandor founded White Hat IT Security in 2018 with private venture capital. The colleagues hold Hungarian Top Secret and EU and NATO Secret level security clearances, as well as over 15 of the most prestigious international offensive and defensive specialist certifications. As leader I see how important adaptivity is, and with almost 20 years of experience in infosec I know how quickly the adversaries adjust. Fortunately, our team is more than capable of rising to the challenges of the current threat landscape. I am very lucky to have found the experts I now work with.”

White Hat offers a wide range of IT security services that range from ITS consulting and audit to deep-diving vulnerability research of certain critical system elements. They have rapid response capabilities due to a private helicopter at their disposal and they offer adversary removal and have special references in full-scope incident management and business recovery. Their comprehensive training portfolio is based on their broad experience and uses life-like examples and lab exercises. Their most sought-after courses are their security awareness trainings optimized for different corporate roles and target groups and their Europe-wide unique WHCD enterprise defence training available also in university cooperation. This portfolio has been extended by their White Hat managed security services that has in 2020 won the special award of one of the biggest ICT events of the region – and earned them a spot in MISA as a Microsoft trusted MSSP partner.
